AI Activity Submission

If your AI project extends beyond your role, requires new tools, subscriptions, or college data, kindly submit a proposal to the IT&A AI Steering Committee using this form. You will hear back if the committee has any concerns.

As we continue to explore the use of Artificial Intelligence within our division, it’s important that everyone feels empowered to learn and explore, and equally important that we provide the tools and resources to support your work in this area. AI is a major initiative not just within IT&A - it’s a priority for the entire campus. It’s also an area where we need to coordinate our efforts and to apply an appropriate level of prudence, especially around the use of 3rd party AI tools and institutional data.

We expect and encourage you to explore AI in your work. If your AI project extends beyond your role, requires new tools, subscriptions, or college data, kindly submit a proposal to the IT&A AI Steering Committee using this form. This process helps us align with division and college objectives, understand division-wide AI activities, and offer support where possible. It also allows us to recognize and share your innovative work. For individual projects not involving college data, you do not need to fill out this form (unless you would like to share!).

Until a more specific IT policy is established, our current technology use policies remain in effect. When working with AI, ensure the security and privacy of our network and data. Innovate with AI, but maintain system integrity, community privacy, and respect intellectual property rights. Additionally, be aware of vendor policies on data usage for training AI tools, even for platforms and systems we may have already adopted.

We all have a role shaping how the college embraces and adopts this technology. Your creativity and insights are critical. Let’s continue to learn, push boundaries, foster collaboration, and chart our path forward together.
