What is the "Cite it!" Tool?

The "Cite it!" widget is a tool for easily adding citations to your Leganto Reading List while browsing, including links to books for students to purchase, articles for students to read, videos for students to watch, etc.

How to Add "Cite it!" Tool on Internet Browser

  1. Log in to Leganto by clicking the link in your Canvas course.
  2. On the top right of the screen, click on your user name 
  3. Click on the Cite it! button from the drop-down.
  4. Click and drag the blue "CITE IT!" button up to your browser's bookmark bar.
  5. Click the CLOSE button.

 

Using the "Cite It!" Tool

Now that you have added the "Cite It!" tool to your bookmarks bar, it is available to click while browsing the Internet to create a citation for your reading list.

  1. When you find something that you want to add to your reading list, click the Cite it! bookmark to launch the citation creator.
  2. In most situations, the text fields auto-fill with the information about the resource. If not, type in the information about the source you are citing. The required fields are Title, Author, and Type, but you can add additional information if you would like.
  3. Under the "Add to:" section, select the desired course list from the first drop-down and the desired section for the item from the second drop-down.
  4. Click "Add & Close" to add the citation to your reading list.
