“No bootable device found” error - Windows 1909 upgrade

The error comes from Windows 1909, if the laptop is upgraded to 1909 it will cause the laptop to not see the Windows volume as a bootable device. This can be resolved by disabling Secure Boot in the BIOS settings.

  1. Fully turn off the laptop. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
  2. Locate the F2 button on the top row of the keyboard. Then power on the laptop and tap the F2 key after pressing the power button.
  3. This will boot the computer into the BIOS - In the BIOS options, look for the Secure Boot and expand the option

  1. Select the Secure Boot Enable option then select Disabled on the right side.
    Once Disabled is selected, select Apply at the bottom right of the screen.

  1. This will lock up the screen for a few seconds and look like its doing nothing. After the freeze, the mouse will start working again at this point you can click Exit at the bottom right.
