How to Restore Missing Files or Folders

Open Mentor.

  • For a missing file within a folder
    1. Locate the folder from which the file is missing.
    2. Right-click on the folder
    3. Select Restore previous versions; several dated versions of the folder should be listed
    4. Click once on the most recent folder in which the missing file was likely to have been present  ​​​​​​
    5. Click Open. A new window opens with the contents of the folder as of that date; if it doesn't contain the file you are looking for, close the window and try a different date
    6. Once the file is located; copy it to your desktop, then close the previous versions windows, then move the file from your desktop to the current Mentor folder that it belongs in.

 

  • ​​​​​​​For a missing folder
    1. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Locate the folder that contained the missing folder and right-click it
    2. Select Restore previous versions; several dated versions of the folder should be listed​​​​​​​
    3. Click once on the most recent folder in which the missing folder was likely to have been present  ​​​​​​
